Build-Ups.

One person is on and they count behind a tree. They count to 100 fast and everybody hides.

When the person who is on catches another person, then they are on with them, so two are chasing the others.

This keeps going as more and more children are caught. The games ends when all the children playing are caught.

Many children can play this game.

It is best to play this game in a large space with lots of hiding places.

Rounders

Rounders is an Irish game played by nearly everyone at some time in their youth. It is a bit like Baseball with lots of throwing and catching.

There are 9 players on a team.

The playing area is called a diamond.

There are four bases. Home Base, First,Second and Third.

There are 2 teams. One team is outfield (fielding-that means catching the ball) and one is batting.

The fielding team has a bowler and a back-stop. The back-stop stands behind the batter to catch the ball in case the batter misses. The batter and the bowler must wear a helmet. Three strikes means the batter is out.
There are 3 base-minders, two outfielders and two in-fielders.

When the fielding team throws the ball the batter has to hit it and run around all the bases and try for a home run , that's one full lap, back to Home Base.

The bowling team tries to get the runners out. When three players are out the teams change over.
Five Innings are played.
An Inning is when both teams have batted and bowled.

Enjoy!!

Ship, Sea, Shore

Ship, Sea, Shore is a game where "ship" is the middle of the yard, "sea" is one side of the yard and "shore" is the other.

When any of the words are called, you move to the side of the yard the word represents.

If you run to the wrong side, you're out of the game.

It's a very fun game and I think the difficulty is medium because sometimes, you just can't help running to the wrong side when you're not supposed to go there! I love this game, it's a great schoolyard game you can play with friends or you could play it at home in your garden or bedroom with your friends, brothers, or sisters. It doesn't require any equipment such as bean bags, tennis rackets, or footballs, but it does require plenty of players!
